We’re going to organise a name tag swap.
If you’re not sure what a name tag / badge is or want some inspiration, you can look here: http://pinterest.com/phxmqg/quilty-name-tags/ or http://southsoundmqg.blogspot.com.au/2013/08/name-tag-resources.html and there are many other examples online.
This will be open for all CMQG members and you’ll need to register by Friday 7 February 2014 to participate. I’ll aim to send the name of your partner by Sunday 16 February and name tags will need to be finished by the March CMQG meeting Thursday 27 March.
Guidelines:
As this is a secret swap, you won’t know who’s making your name tag until the March meeting when you receive it.
You can include a preference of colour or something (eg an object / animal or something) you would like on your name badge.
You can also ask to include your blog/Instagram/Flickr/twitter address on the name tag but as the name tag needs to be wearable and able to be seen, nothing too long / too much info. If there isn’t space on the front of the tag, your swap partner may include this on the back of the name tag.
The name tag is to be no larger than 9cm in any direction – shape is completely up to you.
The tag must have a fastening / pin on the back and the recipient’s name to stand out clearly.
Some kind of patchwork or quilting in the construction and be “modern” in theme.
This is a secret swap so make sure you keep the details of your swap partner a secret until after your tag has been received by them.
If your swap partner has provided this, I will also send you their Blog, Instagram, Flickr, Twitter addresses so you can get some inspiration of what they might like.
Photos of the badges will be put up on instagram @canberramqg and CMQG webpage.
We will have angel quilters available if needed. What this means is if you’ve signed up but realise you can’t finish the badge in time, please tell us at least a week before the March meeting and the angel quilter can make the badge for your partner.
If you can’t make the March meeting, can you please send your finished badge to the CMQG PO Box address so it arrives before the March meeting.
